Nicotine Cravings and Vitamin B Complex

I was recently talking to someone who quit smoking for her New Year's Resolution. She was constantly craving cigarettes and was "beyond irritable."

I remember going through this many years ago when I quit smoking, a bad habit I'd picked up from my parents. So I shared the best tip I had discovered when, after a month of intense cravings, brisk walks and mood swings, I had visited my doctor. It was common at the time for patients to see the nurse before the doctor, as she was able to resolve many issues without having to waste the doctor's valuable time.

She told me to start taking Vitamin B complex. I was sceptical, but tried it and it worked. For the cravings and the irritability.

To my delight, when I saw the woman who has just quit this year about a week later, she reported that she had started taking vitamin B complex, and it had also resolved these issues for her. So I thought I should probably share that information with you as well!

Please remember to check with your healthcare provider before making dietary changes, including the use of vitamin supplements.

nicotine is metabolized into vitamine b3 when it enters the body. Vitamin b3 itself is a nicotinic acid.
